Know what happens next.

Lorestar keeps a whole tabletop campaign in one private notebook on your own computer: the world and its secrets, the story so far, the next session's beats, the table. It works offline, and at the table the next thing is the one that's lit.

Early access is by invitation. Have an alpha key? Redeem it in your account.

Played Next Planned The Saltmarch, the sample world that comes with Lorestar. Swipe sideways to see all of it.

Secrets stay yours.

Every person, place and thing has a part for players and a part for you. Turn on Player view, or let players open the table on their own devices, and your part isn't shown or sent.

Maren Vosk

For players

Weathered harbormaster who knows every boat in Gullhaven by the sound of its hull. Fair, if not friendly. Pays well for a quiet job done properly.

GM only

Maren ships relics out of the Drowned Abbey for the Ashen Choir. She is not a believer: she owes them for her brother's life and wants out. If the party gives her a way to break with the Choir that keeps her family safe, she will turn on them.

At the table, the beat you're on is the bright one.

Run a session from the notebook you prepped it in. The beats are a checklist; the current one is large enough to read from across the table. Lookups, initiative, a timestamped table log and a players' screen for the TV are one click away.

Into the Sunken FenSession 3 · Beat 1 of 4

  1. Hire a Fenfolk guide in Crowmere. What will they ask in return?
  2. Crossing the fen: the reeds go still. Something is under the water.
  3. First sight of the abbey roof above the water, and fresh rope on the stones.
  4. Camp on a drowned wall. Singing carries across the water at night.

This is the app.

Screens from Lorestar itself, running the sample world in its Luminous design, one of eight designs it can wear: warm paper, an investigation corkboard, Swiss transit signs, an RPG zine and more.

The story spine: arcs and sessions on one line, quests branching where they began, the next session lit.

Yours, on your computer.

No campaign of yours lives on a server. Lorestar runs on your computer, and your worlds stay there. The one thing it sends us is its license check: the key, an ID for the install, the computer's name, the platform and Lorestar's version. What the check sends, and when.

Your files
Worlds are plain files in a folder you choose. Back them up, sync them, open them in a text editor.
Offline
Everything works without a connection, at the kitchen table or in a cabin. The license renews online about once a day when it can, and holds for 60 days without one.
Rule sets
D&D 5e, Pathfinder 2e, Starfinder 2e, GURPS 4e, Call of Cthulhu 7e, old-school B/X, or your own system. Numbers and rule names only; no rulebook text is bundled.
The table
Players join on their own phones and laptops over your network, or a relay you run. A second window goes on the TV.
The Overmind
An optional AI helper. You pick which AI it uses, or leave it off. It proposes changes; you accept, edit or turn them down. It can also run a solo game as your DM.
Maps
Battle maps with tokens and fog, world and town maps from the map maker, and one atlas that zooms from the planet to the room.
Where it runs
Windows and Mac, as a desktop app.
